One of the best things about raw denim is customizing the outcome. I prefer the “color set” method so mine don’t fade or bleed onto my clothes and furniture. This technique, handed down from my grandma, I simply tub soak my new jeans without agitation (to avoid unwanted creases) in a salt and vinegar bath for 30 minutes, drain tub and re-rinse without agitation to get the salt and vinegar off and hang dry to the manufacturer’s folds. Hope this helps an ape out there!

An 2 inch longer in length.

The blue indigo denim gorilla cut I received a couple weeks ago came in at 38 33 and it is good that they come in 1 inch longer in length because these are 100% cotton they did lose 1 inch in length and about 1/3 of an inch in the waist after soaking an washing and I only ever air dry cotton denim.
The denim gorilla cut is a light middle weight denim not heavyweight like the carpenter Ben Davis jeans.
The gorilla cut denim will come stiff and creased but once washed they soften up and the crease goes away.
Also you're going to want to soak these and wash them separate before wearing cuz the ink does rub and transfer off .
I also recommend checking out the butcher cut

The jeans are really nice I got a size 40/30 and they fit nice and baggy only complaint is that the length felt like a 32 or 33 I had to baby cuff them and after that they fit me perfect highly recommend and PLEASE MAKE A GREY DENIM BEN DAVISSSS!!!!!

These are an ultra dark indigo which I’m digging, and a unique denim material and color. When I starched my grandpa cuffs the color bled a little on my hands, so I would highly recommend a salt and vinegar soak to set the dye and prevent color loss. They’re outstanding!

The denim says it's weight is 12 oz the carpenter pants claim they are 14 oz and the original pants claim they are 10 oz.
The original Fabric pants and the carpenter Jean denim is much tougher.
With the indigo denim gorilla cut I did three 30 minutes soaks for three days and each night I let them dry on the fourth day I washed them and the Indigo denim is still bleeding off so be careful if sitting on stuff with them cuz they can transfer to other item and clothing. These pants are more for just wearing not for working the original and carpenter pants are much tougher for working I also measured the inseam and they came in at 33 inches and the opening on the bottom is almost a foot wide.
After the soaking and washing I did lose one inch in length and a third of inch in the waist after air dried .
I would recommend them making these in heavyweight denim like the ones they used to make and use a different dye indigo even if they have to charge a little more like $5 more.

The construction, silhouette, the look, its my favorite brand so its all amazing. My big problem that ruined it for me is that they did not use the same denim fabric like they used to on the vintage button snap denim gorilla cuts, or even a similar 14oz denim. These pants don’t have that same rough and thick feel to them anymore. Ive been collecting old denim gorilla cuts for years and what they all had was durability, to be completely honest I don’t think these pants will last the test of time like the old ones though. Maybe I had too high expectations from my favorite brand, I wish they could have atleast used the same fabric as their carpenter rigid jeans. If you don’t care about anything I said, then buy these pants they are still awesome and better than anything dickies has to make. It just disappoints me like bro why did you guys have to cheap out on the denim🥲 I seriously wouldnt mind paying an extra $20 if it meant for the 100% return or the original gorilla cuts the come back.

I will say the very loose fit took some getting used to but overall I’m very happy with the quality, fit and price. They have been good comfortable work pants for the summer and I will probably buy more in the future. If there is one down side I would say the inseam lengths are very limited, I think some longer options will be nice

Great work pants they last and csn be washed ironed again and still look brand new, wore them in for a month through bails of hay, railroad ties, barb wire, and through stacking feed they held up.
