Your carpenter bibs are great.
Two things you need to improve on...
The zipper fly doesn't go down far enough, needs to be a few inches lower, hard to get Mr. Happy out to pee.
You all need to make a summer carpenter bib like Carhartt used to. Yours are great for colder weather, but way too hot for summer in 100 degree weather, we don't stop framing homes in the summer, on the contrary, it's our busiest season. I have to buy Roundhouse bibs and still, they're to heavy. The old white Carhartt cotton carpenter bibs were exactly what I need, but those geniuses stopped making them. Excellent loose fit overalls! Built in knee cushioning with slots for knee pads as well. Thick canvas that will stand the test of time. I actually wore these to a music festival and had zero complaints about the comfort. Good job Ben Davis!

Loved the bibs the first week After a couple of days my pockets already had holes in them. Next day the crotch area split just with a little bit of tension. Day after that it split from crotch to knee.

Nothing beats the quality of these! Have used them for years,they last a very long time. I hope they never quit making them.

My son is a new electrician, he says these are terrific and exactly what he had hoped for!

Overall, the material feels thinner than previous pairs. The front bib pockets are definitely smaller. I carry a hand tool in my front bib pocket and previous pairs the tool would rest across the bottom of the pocket. On this new pair the tool does not rest across the bottom. It is slanted in the pocket at 45 degrees. Clearly the pockets are significantly smaller. Smaller pockets and thinner material tells me Ben Davis skimped on the design of these. Only reason this is 3 stars and not one is I can not find duct bibs with front pockets anywhere else.

Item arrived within days of ordering. These are replacements for a vintage pair of Carhartt's. They fit him perfectly and the quality is outstanding. They washed up well and are 100% duckcloth cotton. Look no further as these overalls have it all! Plenty of pockets and loops to hold all your tools and padding on the knee area for added protection. These are winners!

Item arrived extremely quickly, within a week of initial order. Since Carhartt discontinued the carpenters bibs these will be my new go-to.

Best quality bib overalls on the market

Had to pay to send back if they would pay for shipping I would order another size but cost another 30 to send back.

Was looking for a pair of work bibs with a built in pouch and these are amazing, they also have built in knee pads, full length so they stay put when you bend over. Also very deep pockets. I ordered 32/30 and they fit perfectly.

I’m a full time carpenter and woodworker spending 60-80+ hours most weeks out of the year building houses and cabinetry. I am about 6’1” and 180lbs, reasonably fit, I ordered the 32x32, about the same as my pant size. These are my favorite bibs because of all the pockets (they almost have a built in apron of sorts), the fit is great at keeping out saw dust (often a problem with bibs), and they are decently comfortable.
Most of the time I work (unless I’m framing or siding, even then I try to keep it simple) I don’t like wearing bags. Bags are bulky and I like to scamper around the jobsite as fast as possible, everything considered they just don’t really save me time. The pockets on these overalls are sufficient for holding a tape measure, spare driver bits, a few handfuls of fasteners, a handful of shims, a level, speed square, utility knife, hammer, nail sets, chisels, pliers, screw driver, pencils, random little jigs/ spacing blocks, and they are still comfortable.
I cannot attest to the quality since I’ve only been wearing them for a couple weeks, but they seem to be of a similar quality to carhartt overalls. I will update my review accordingly after more use.

However, these don’t get the full 5star rating because (as other commenters have pointed out) the zipper is too high. If you have to take a piss you either have to carefully roll the top part of the garment down (as to not touch to disease ridden portapotty floor, practice first at home) which is time consuming and awkward, or you have to contort your spine into the shape of the letter C to stick your member exactly straight up (90 degrees to the ground) then sling it over the edge of the zipper opening (which puts a kink in the hose). If you are going with the later option you should really get the brown overalls and not the white ones since you will undoubtedly get piss on yourself, even if you execute the maneuver perfectly the kink in the hose will leave piss backed up which will drain out the moment you unkink the hose. I’m seriously considering using my utility knife to cut the zipper opening lower, this may actually be the option and I will update my review if I end up trying it out.

Just wasn’t happy with overall quality of the material zipper sticks. Definitely wouldn’t buy another one.

Title says it all. Upgraded their over all straps. Upgraded the rivet pins throughout. Simply put, best in class

Had these 40 years ago. Loved them and mostly they are great for finish work where traditional tool bags don’t belong. Originally they were all cotton, which I prefer; now mainly polyester, so we’ll see. Like the suspenders with elastic.

Best duct bibs on the market. With improved fasteners up top these are the cream of the crop when it comes to duct bibs! Carthart lost, Ben Davis won with these!

Was looking for an alternative to Carhartt bibs and these looked promising. But arrived and are a alot more light duty than I would’ve imagined. Don’t feel nearly as strong as my Carhartt comparison. Material feels too thin and frail, straps feel like they are going to wear out and fail. Nail pouch seems just too small to comfortably fit your hands into. And the sizing was considerably different from the Carhartts.

Husband is a carpenter & wears these overalls 24/7. Discovered this brand after Carhartt discontinued, and the quality of the Ben Davis is comparable, if not better. Thanks!!

Plenty of pockets for tools and material for any trade. Definitely comes in handy. Been using these overalls for 15 years

I really love the carpenters coveralls with the extra pockets. I used to buy from Carhartt but they discontinued the style. I am disappointed with the hidden fees for orders from Ben Davis to Canada. The price has become prohibitive by the time you pay duties and brokerage fees. I will be purchasing something else in the future from a local supplier.

So happy I found these overalls with the pockets. I always bought Carhartt but they no longer make them. Quality product and useful lower lag pockets are handy.
